Privacy
Panchayat Report is built so a villager can speak without putting their household on the front page by accident.
What we collect
- Report facts you type: place, names of vendors and officials, dates, description.
- Optional reporter name, phone, and email.
- Account name, email, phone, and a hashed password if you register.
- IP address on reports and contact messages, used only against spam and abuse.
- Session cookies needed to stay logged in and to stop CSRF attacks.
- A small visitor cookie so we can count how many people used the site, how many read a blog, and whether you already liked it. It is not used for ads.
What the public can see
Published reports show the story and the place. They show your name or contact only if you opted in. IP addresses, private notes, and unpublished files are never listed in search.
Accounts
A logged-in user can see every report tied to that account, including pending ones. Moderators can see reporter contact details to review a file.
Retention
Published reports stay as a public record unless they are later hidden for legal or safety reasons. You may write to hello@panchayatreport.com to ask about your personal data.
